Job Description



Summary

The Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting the Marketing Department with social media posting and management, podcast planning and execution, video content, employee newsletters and other duties assigned by the Marketing Director.



 

Essential Functions

  • Social Media posting and Management
    1. Develop posting calendar/schedule, execute posting, monitor replies and mentions.
    2. Help develop style (graphics) and language (appropriate for each channel)
    3. Monitor social media of JD and other key partners, also targeted key accounts.
    4. Mention, repost and tag those when adequate.
    5. Keep list of relevant hashtags to promote to stay consistent.
  • Podcast planning & execution
    1. Aid in development of themes and content calendar
    2. Work on lining up contributors.
    3. Record and edit content.
    4. Work in distribution platforms
    5. Develop Murphy template and branding so they open, close, and provide a Murphy style in all podcasts.
  • Video content
    1. Evaluate video content from JD and other partners we can leverage and edit.
    2. Seek appropriate approvals.
    3. Aid development of Murphy calendar of videos to capture, produce and edit (we could do inhouse and evaluate other partners to lineup)
    4. Develop Murphy template and branding so they open, close, and provide a Murphy style in all videos.
  • Employee Newsletters & Corporate Updates
    1. Support content creation and updates via SharePoint 
    2. Reach out to co-workers to submit information for new hires, anniversaries, special occasions.
  • Various marketing initiatives
    1. Branch open houses
    2. Email campaigns
    3. Direct mail campaigns
    4. Trade Shows and events
    5. Many other opportunities


Physical Requirements and Work Schedule

Employee must be able to do occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.  The position is temporary, up to 20-30 hours per week depending on availability. Includes up to 5% of travel. 



 

Education/Work Experience

High school diploma or GED required. Currently enrolled in a Marketing degree or related field.
